Love reading? Every couple of months, a group of Chicks and Junior Chicks get together for some fundraising and good discussion. A new venue/restaurant is organized for each book and every session gets everyone talking! Proceeds directly benefit International Boxing Club (IBC). Additionally, $5 donations will be requested at each meeting. Simply email the event organizer if you plan to participate that month and be sure to read the selected book. Come to just one or come to them all! In September, the group will be meeting on Tuesday, September 27, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the SouthBriar Restaurant in Sylvania. The books that will be discussed are: Junior Chicks – "The Hunger Games" by Suzanne Collins (for ages 11 and up) Adult Chicks – "The Help" by Kathryn Stockett Please RSVP on Facebook or by emailing lwaggoner@r-p.com. |
This summer, IBC was featured in a one-on-one FOX Toledo story with Joe Rychnovsky. The story showcased IBC student Trayvone Mathis discussing the positive effects of the program on his life. In addition, FOX Toledo aired another story highlighting Chicks for Charity's role with IBC. Our YouTube channel features
